We are among a handful of companies in the world that produce life-like, life-size animatronic dinosaurs and giant animatronic bugs for traveling and permanent exhibits. Billings Productions has the added distinction of specializing in creating animatronic creatures suited for both indoor and outdoor display. We also provide customized design and build services for a wide range of static and animatronic wildlife replicas. Together with our partners, we can also work with you to conceptualise, design, build and project manage your next dinosaurs or giant bugs theme park.
Zoos and museums are our main clients. Not only are our animatronic exhibits extremely popular, they offer opportunities for educational messaging centered on wildlife conservation and the science of robotics. Through our realistic, fun and entertaining exhibits, it is our hope that people of all ages will come to appreciate the prehistoric past and its lessons for our planet's future.
From a modest 60 animatronic dinosaurs in 2004, our collection today consists of more than 300 dinosaurs across some 60 different species - from the smallest dinosaur, Compsognathus to the 43-foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex. All our dinosaurs are beautifully crafted to look and sound as realistic as possible by our team of highly skilled designers, engineers, technicians and artists. Each year, we add new dinosaurs and incorporate new ideas and technology to help our clients make each dinosaur exhibition better than their last.
In 2013, we created The Giant Bug Company, a division within Billings Productions that focuses on the design and development of larger-than-life animatronic bugs. We now have four sets of a 13-bug collection that includes the Bombardier Beetle, Emperor Scorpion, and the Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula. Our Giant Bugs have proven popular with establishments wanting to bring the public’s attention to endangered invertebrates and the important roles they play in preserving the balance of nature.
